Molly Bettencourt

Business Operations Manager

Molly Bettencourt is one of Sequoia’s behind the scenes superheroes. She has led the charge in Business Operations since 2015. Molly earned her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon with concentrations in conservation, policy, and urban planning. While she is typically hard at work keeping our team on track in office, Molly knows what it takes to perform work out in the field- in 2013, she spent eight intensive weeks performing wildlands studies with the Peruvian Amazonian Conservation Program. She has also volunteered with the Sierra Service Project, Volunteers in Mission, and the National Charity League.

Molly is an avid naturalist who enjoys the great outdoors. Out of all the species we encounter at Sequoia, her favorite would have to be the office dogs, because I’m approved by all agencies to snuggle them. When asked what her favorite part about working at Sequoia is, Molly replied: “the amazing team I get to work with day in and day out.“ Just like our biologists in the field, our hard working office staff needs to stay fueled up throughout the day- Molly’s favorite office snacks include: all the tea and any type of chips. Speaking of the office, when asked if she has a favorite memory or story working at Sequoia, Molly described a memorable day when “we all ended up in tears laughing during our annual white elephant exchange in 2019”. Out of all the extraordinary animals with whom we share this planet, Molly feels she most identifies with the cat because she enjoys people in doses and on her own time.

When she is not hard at work with Sequoia, Molly enjoys many hobbies and pastimes such as boating, snowboarding, hiking, reading, traveling the globe and spending time with all of her nieces and nephews.

Molly’s favorite place in the world to enjoy nature is Yosemite because “I grew up camping on the Valley floor with my family and now have the amazing memory of my now-husband proposing atop the North Dome.”

If Molly were not working as our Business Operations Manager, she would likely pursue an alternate career in criminal justice reform because the current system is beyond broken.

Thank you, Molly, for all your hard work and dedication. We are so lucky to have you on our team!
Stay tuned to meet the rest of the Sequoia Ecological team.
