Jackson Valler is a versatile biologist who specializes in field surveys and wildlife monitoring. His experience includes monitoring for several species, including California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) and puma (Puma concolor). He has also studied the droving dynamics of soldier crabs (Mictyris longicarpus) in Australia.
Jackson’s primary experience at Sequoia is working alongside crews in the field to identify and avoid sensitive species and their habitats, providing environmental training to crews prior to work, pre-construction species clearance surveys, and compliance monitoring. His experience also includes serving as a summer camp operations coordinator and supervisor, and tutoring elementary and high school students in math, science, writing, and history.
