This State-funded project will implement fuels reduction efforts in high-risk areas that overlap with key infrastructure, private residences, major roadways, and recreation areas.
Sequoia is assisting with public outreach and implementation of necessary environmental permits and regulatory compliance. This includes preparation of a Categorical Exemption document and Notice of Exemption in coordination with the CDFW and USFS, development of project plans, and conducting biological and cultural desktop and field assessments to assist in determining priority sites and developing the project Work Plan.
Sequoia will perform mapping of the project area and will conduct pre-construction and protocol surveys. During construction, we will conduct weekly site visits to provide environmental training for crew members, perform sensitive resource surveys, consult with RCD and its forester, and assess project compliance.
