Sequoia served as the CDFW-approved biological monitor for salt marsh harvest mouse and California Ridgway’s rail on this pipeline replacement project near Palo Alto.
Our biologists performed preconstruction surveys for potential sensitive species including California Ridgway’s rail, salt marsh harvest mouse, San Francisco garter snake, and western pond turtle. We monitored all pipeline replacement activities, conducted environmental training for crew members about nearby sensitive species and habitats performed daily site walks and inspected wildlife exclusion fencing, maintained detailed notes of maintenance issues and fencing deficiencies, and coordinated work activities with multiple agencies including PG&E, San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority, CDFW, and USFWS.
